Lucifuge Rofocale is a powerful King, and ruler of over 30 legions of spirits.

He is also known as Focalor,  an anagram of “Rofocal” but there is some controversy about that as some believe they are two different entities. In my experience, I have concluded that they are entirely different demons altogether, although it is very likely that Lucifuge serves under Focalor in some capacity.

 

The Latin name “Lucifugus” is derived from two words: Lux (Light) and Fugio (to flee) which means: " He who flees from the Light”, bringing the night, and is considered the counterpart of Lucifer who brings the light. Unfortunately, there are no historically authentic sigils in existence for Lucifuge and maybe that is for a good reason. He is not exactly pleased to be evoked or forced to work with humans, and He usually will manifest only to those that have pure intentions. There are no circles or magick formulas to keep Him from breaking through and causing serious trouble, so be aware of your true intent when you want to learn from Him. He really dislikes Goetia.

 

In my experience, He is an amazing demon that has power over the wind and the sea and can create a connection with matter. Air is His element and even if He has a Mercurial energy I can’t stop feeling a Saturnian essence as well. He is directly involved under the command of Lucifer for the government of Hell. He is invested in all the wealth and treasures of the world. His subordinates are Baal,  Agares, and Marbas. 

 

His gift to people who are dedicated students is to help with the advancement of the study of the evolution of our genetic code,  as well as the advancement of DNA combinations, and the key to living forever. He is very much into the cleanliness and health of the body, what we eat, and thus the toxins we are putting into ourselves. He is against drugs, smoking, and pollution in general, and he can assist and help with such matters. He has the power to cure any disease and help us with the advancement of the soul.

 

He is very strong and powerful, and He can be very aggressive and dangerous if not respected, but very understanding, wise, and with great compassion as well.

 

According to Eliphas Levi, Lucifuge is said to be the ruler of the Qliphoth Satariel. This belief originally comes from a claimed translation of his Hebrew manuscript, and since then it gained acceptance among magicians. In my opinion, there is no absolute truth about anything we learn in books and other people's experiences in any matter.

 

I noticed that each one of us when dealing with magick and/or evocations has different results due to not only personal skills and psychic abilities, but our perception of any form of energy projected from our subconscious mind…In other words, we see what we need to see. We learn what we need to learn at the moment.

 

In this painting, we can see the sigil that He shares with Focalor,  etched on the pedestal. The magnificent wings are gold and silver and the background is veiled by the Night.
